Adsorbents Production

Work began at this site in 1995 and has continued to the present with ESI being responsible for all of the electrical systems at the site. This has included the design and upgrade of five control systems in two manufacturing plants. This has included the integrated control of over 170 motors and their associated instrumentation from two central control rooms, one in each plant. Each control system includes a General Electric 90-70 PLC with a Cimplicity application. Interface to field instruments as well as between each PLC is performed by a GE Genius local area network with the communications between the PLC's and the Cimplicity computers by Ethernet. Remote control of the plants is provided by workstations located throughout the plants, as well as the computers within the control rooms. Over 50 PID loop controls are performed by the PLC's that also provide recipe batch control for this ISO certified manufacturing process. ESI's continued work for this client has included as built P&ID's, Instrument Lists, control system schematics, Operational Procedures, and Equipment Lists, all performed from a client perspective. More recent work has included the addition of two new control systems to upgrade an existing plant, including retrofits of a calciner process, two molecular sieve processes, a dense phase conveyor system, a synthesis process, and screening. Nearly 80 projects have been performed for this client. Typical project work includes engineering, programming, and startup.
