Aluminum RecyclingWork at three sites involves the automation of several rotary gas fired furnaces. Each furnace is equipped with a hydraulic system to control furnace operation as well as a baghouse for emissions. All operations are completely automatic, controlled by an Allen-Bradley PLC with a custom graphic interface application provided for operator interface, trends, reports, and recipe downloads. Both discrete and analog control is performed with all PID control provided by the PLC. Communication between the PLC and the operator control station computer is performed by Allen-Bradley Data Highway Plus. Work began with this client in 1995 and has continued since. Complete turn-key projects, including electrical installation, have been provided. Over 110 projects have been provided to this client throughout three sites. |
