Distribution CenterWork began at this site in 1997 and has included the upgrade of a Packing Sorter control system from a DEC PDP-11 to an Allen-Bradley PLC-5/60L with an RS View application. This turn-key project also included the addition of two new Accu-Sort bar code scanners, one on line and the other as a hot back-up. Complete documentation of the control system was also provided with an Operations Manual, as well as the conversion of over 60 drawings to AutoCad. This project was commissioned without production interruption. The Allen-Bradley Data Highway Plus interface was used for the communications between the PLC and the RS View computer, as well as the bar code scanners. Continued work has been performed to include the expansion of the DH+ network to 12 other PLC's and computers, along with the inclusion of a new Shipping Sorter to the RS View application. Other work has included upgrades to the controls of various conveyor systems in the facility as requested. Twenty turn-key projects have been performed at this site. |
